The Chairman reports that although the building of the new Village Hall and Clubhouse is now about a month behind schedule because of the weather, it will be finished for the first league match of the new season on 8 May 2010. The official opening will be on June 5th and all members are welcome to attend and take a look at this fabulous new building.
The club will not "own" the clubhouse but will have to pay the Village Hall a small sum in order to use it. They will expect us to leave it as we found it and so we need to keep up our normally high standards of tidiness and cleanliness
The building contractors have bee very careful and have caused minimal damage to the outfield but they are arranging for that to be rectified as is detailed in their contract. The club will be applying weedkiller to the outfield to kill the daisies and then the ground will be rolled. Did you know that square alone requires 40 hours of rolling prior to the start of the season? |
